Just getting started....

We are at the very beginning of what I think will prove to be a serious exercise of patience. I am already confused and frustrated by the amount of paperwork involved. You'd think that there are babies in orphanages and there are people who want them - not that simple.

We met with the social work for our first visit of our home study today. Dan and I met together with her today, then we have separate interviews and then the home visit where she will interview the kids and check out the house - I know, scary!

We will send in our application to the agency and our first CNS (formerly INS - I think) forms tomorrow - along with enough money to take a really nice vacation. We have ordered birth certificates, marriage license, and just about every other piece of paperwork they can think of.

It is a strange exciting thing to think that OUR baby is out there already! We are excited and can't wait already although they say we will have to wait about 13 months or longer.
